Summary/Objective:


Quality Assurance Lab Coordinator ensures the accuracy, precision, and reliability of laboratory testing by establishing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality assurance and quality control. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of laboratory procedures and QA methodologies, be able to work independently, and have excellent organizational and problem solving skills.



Quality Assurance Lab Coordinator ensures the accuracy, precision, and reliability of laboratory testing by establishing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality assurance and quality control. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of laboratory procedures and QA methodologies, be able to work independently, and have excellent organizational and problem solving skills.  

This role involves checking and monitoring laboratory procedures, equipment, staff competency,  and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The duties and responsibilities of a Laboratory Quality Assurance Coordinator include:  

  • Developing and implementing quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Ensuring all laboratory procedures and tests comply with relevant regulations and standards
  • Conducting and documenting internal audits and inspections regularly
  • Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of laboratory data and reportS
  • Managing the laboratory’s quality control programs  
  • Training and mentoring staff on quality control and assurance procedures
  • Monitoring the quality of testing and the competency of laboratory staff
  • Investigating non-compliance issues and implementing corrective actions
  • Assessing the effectiveness of laboratory equipment and making recommendations for improvements
  • Identifying and addressing potential areas of improvement within laboratory operations
  • Keeping up-to-date with relevant scientific and technological developments.
  • Oversee and implement quality assurance programs in the laboratory.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Review and maintain proper documentation of all quality assurance activities.
  • Coordinate with laboratory staff to ensure consistent quality of procedures.
  • Identify areas for quality improvement and implement new procedures as necessary.
  • Conduct regular audits and evaluations to ensure adherence to quality assurance  protocols.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to management.  
  • Provide training to staff on quality control and compliance procedures.
  • Investigate and address any issues or complaints related to quality assurance.
Qualifications  
  • Proven work experience as a Laboratory Quality Assurance Coordinator or similar role.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and control procedures.  
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.  
  • Experience with laboratory information systems and MS Office.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry or related field.
